This weekend was a blast; on Friday, I had delicious food and fun at a local bar, but Saturday was the most rewarding. I had my butt kicked by my personal trainer, had an extremely fun time at my burlesque dance class, and I personalized my own ceramic mugs!
A friend approached me with an idea she saw on Pinterest; making your own personalized mugs with oil-based sharpies, nail polish remover, alcohol, and an oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.I love arts and crafts, I love tea (my family is Jamaican; the Queen’s habits die hard), and I love the opportunity to be creative and design my own mug.
“stop acting so small; you are the universe in ecstatic motion.”
“when we strive to be better, everything around us becomes better.”
— Paulo Coehlo
The mugs my friend created turned out really good!
This gives me a “Roy Lichtenstein” feel.
I’m pretty pleased with how the mugs turned out. My first mug had to incorporate a black girl with a beautiful fro/galaxy. And the hashtag “carefreeblackgirl” because we are awesome, dandelions because I’m a basica. The second mug I truly love; I have the hand of fatima tattoed on the right side of my body. I also have maktub tattooed on my right shoulder and “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coehlo changed my life; one of the greatest books ever written and I urge everyone to read it.
This is definitely going to be a new hobby of mine; perfect way to make great gifts that people really appreciate.
